if the pedal is mushy you prob still have air in the lines. Did you bench bleed the master cyl before you put it in? When you put it in did you pump the pedal and break the lines on the master? Then if you still have a mushy pedal you need to bleed the whole system. You have abs as well??? not sure if you should use a 5th gen master a cb7 would be just fine. I say keep bleeding the system untill you get a pedal.

The brake booster on the abs cars is larger and the rod is actually longer than the brake push rod on the non abs brake system. To get a better brake pedal feel you will need to install that booster and make sure to adjust the push rod to the correct specification. I did this to my car and intially it did feel like much until the last 1/3 of pedal travel and it was super stiff. After i did the booster swap the pedal engages at less than .75 inch of travel and feels great and is easy to modulate.

^^^He's right. I also tried just the master cylinder but it was like this. I put a 93ex abs brake booster on and all was good, great braking power. Good luck. L8r

are all honda brake boosters the same?

i can probably get a 5th gen brake booster. is it the same? or i should say, is it going to bolt on?

As far as I know you can use a 4th gen EX abs booster, any lude booster (92-96). I would assume that a 5th gen abs one would work as well, but no guarantee on that. L8r

BJ, you're the one that reflared one of the lines for a new fitting? To accomodate the different MC. How exactly is that done? I know what the tool looks like and I've read about using it but I still don't know what I have to buy.
I got the EX MC and BB ready to go, just need to be able to attach that one line.

Flaring a line isn't that hard, but does take some practice. Your best bet is to goto a junkyard, cut off the larger fitting that you need, then bring that, and the line off of your car to a good shop and have them swap the fitting's for you. L8r

                        didnt change booster.

popped of the mc, shoved a valve cover bolt into the mc shaft and its perfect.(shape is good too. mushshroom shape)

the diff between the booster was about the size of that bolt....

so there we go doods, 1 inch mc, non-abs booster + valve cover bolt
