well i was driving down the road today and then i heard this clunking noise, so i pull over, pop the hood and notice my belt that runs the alternator/ac off the crank pulley is off so i went to slip it back on and i noticed that my crank pulley was loose, i don't think the timing belt slipped off so i'm guessing i didnt bend any valves but i haven't checked yet, i'll do that tomorrow in the light. what i'm wondering is what should i look for? and what would cause it to come loose like that? its loose that i can like wiggle it, but the nut is still on the thread so it didn't come all the way off

Push the pulley on, then take off the bolt. Check and make sure that the key is still in the groove (guessing it would be or your car would be running... pretty weird).
But make sure everything is lined up, and put it back on, and make sure you torque it down to 4,000,000 ft/lbs like it comes from Honda. yeah, not that much, but if you dont have an air gun, get a shop to blast it on there at like 200 or so.

Pull off the pulley and replace it. When mine did that the teeth inside the pulley were all gone but my timing was still in tact since I turned off my car immediately It should still be good though since the timing belt is on just replace the pulley.

I put on the key and then put the pulley on. Then impact the bolt on. It really needs to be tight around 300ft lbs or something like that but with a big breaker bar with a help of a decently big pipe you should be able to torque it down enough.
