if u want to talk to me about autorx then let me know. i used it.
good luck.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
"i dunno....depends on why it's burning oil......there are a lot of reasons that it might be burning oil......and i've never bought into the "once you go synthetic, you can never go back" thing.....my dad and i have done it a few times......never had a problem with anything at all.....done it to n/a volvos, turbo volvos, 2.3 turbo fords, d series honda engines, toyotas"

A compression test tell me if its the piston rings are causing it, right? Maybe this is a dumb question
Originally posted by Kdub Right, The first thing I did when I got the car was adjust the valve lash. When I did that I got a new valve cover gasket. The new gasket came with 4 thin O-rings which I figured went around the spark plug holes, but they look nothing like the flat o-rings that "mold" around the holes on mine. What's the deal? Anyway, they ended up being spare parts. I put RTV on the corners of the rocker arm assembly put the valve cover back on,no leaks. I think there may be a slight leak into one of the spark plug tubes, but its not really accumulating. I plan on changeing the timing belt and balance shaft belt soon since I don't know when it was last replaced, I'll check for that lower leak. Thanks again.
Did the set come with the seals that fit in the valve cover? If so, then the O-Rings are probably the ones that are for between the rocker arms and the head.

It came with the main valve cover seal and those 4 o-rings, NO gaskets that go around the sparkplug holes , I know very little about this engine, I could not see where they could possibly go. I take it I'll have to disassemble the rocker arm assembly, and I'll proly see them. What do these seals(o-rings) do? If they are bad will they cause oil to get into the combustion chamber
Originally posted by Kdub You said it was pricey right, how much? Do you have to use it every oil change?
its about 20 soemthing a b ottle. cheapest is like 17 a bottle if u buy 3...but its worth it to me. he sent me an extra one too.
u use it one time, u put 3oz a quart but in ur case u run one bottle for about i think 1500 miles, and change the filter half way. then afterwards u drain and put new oil with no auto rx...then run for i forgot how many miles, then after that u change the oil and add auto rx again. this will rinse out the crap in ur motor.
i have to order some more soon...very soon....haha you will be surprised what old additives and build up of old stuff is lying around in the engine.
usually after your treatment is done u put 30z per tank for a preventative measure...i didnt do that so imma just do another treatment.

Old thread I know but I searched for autorx and this came up, I've been reading up on autorx on the bobistheoilguy forums and it sounds like good stuff. Supposedly it can get the darkness and bronzing out of an old engine, and my crx has got it in droves.
Has anyone used it?
on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.
