    AT slippage and blinking light-why?

I would like some info on this. On the way to work today the tranny started slipping when I went to speed up into the fast lane. Shortly after that the "D" light on dash started blinking. I know it is probably done but if there is a quick fix that can give me more time that will be cool. If it is gone I'm selling it and buying a manual cb7 like my previous ones. and I will post it for sale so holla.

The blinking is a code. Read it and tell us what code it is otherwise there is no way anyone can help you.
No longer working on the cb. To much time and money has been put into it. Check my for sale thread where the whole car will be parted out.

Check the fluid level on the AT dipstick.

If low, or not present on level, fill that sht up asap!

then reset teh ECU, see if it starts blinking again...

I did both of them and the light stopped and so did the slippage. For some reason I still think it is on its way out. Does any one know when these trannies usually go? I have about 166,000 miles on the car.

good chance it is your tcu. don't replace your tranny unless its a last resort. same thing happened to my car, replaced the tcu with used one for $50 and 15 minutes labor, and transmission has been perfect ever since and mine has 183k on it.

To be honest, upon further reading about the CB7 Accords 90-93, the automatic transmissions tend to shift harshly with age. But regardless, there are a lof of factors behind your tranny...previous owner(s), "S" spirited driving...maintainence...

Like blackandtan said, the TCU can be suspect...but overall, auto transmissions are complex with many moving parts...

I was driving today and my D4 light started blinking and the tranny started shifting like crap. It would start out in 1st like normal and then when it hit around 25 mph, it shifted straight to 3rd....after that, it seems to work ok. The tranny has been shifting way hard since I installed it a few weeks ago. How do I get the codes from the TCU? I am thinking that I have had a bad TCU from the beginning before I replace the tranny but it wasnt showing typical signs of being bad. Any other suggestions would be great. I still have my other tranny so I can use it for parts if necessary (shift solenoid, etc.)
