Noise where the Exhaust mani and DP meets

ok..I got the flexpipe fixed....and it was running smooth as shit....NOW..out of BFE....now I have a leak...and its only when Im reved at 1500 - 2800....then after 2800 or so..it smooths out....

HELP...what might it be....could it be the bolts loose or could it be misaligned????

IS your gasket there? That can cause a leak. Run your hand around the place and see if you feel any air escaping. That would be easist way to find it. BUt try to tighten the bolts and see what happens.

NO..no rattling..there USED to be a bit of a LOUD HARSH rattling/knocking from under the chasis...AFTER they fixed the flexpipe...and NOW..its got a little leak ..and it sounds like its coming from the junction of the mani and DP!

yeah theres a gasket there...and me and my brother in law tightened up the bolts ....NOW..im guessing...from all the rattling and knocking...im thinking THAT maybe knocked it loose...OR a pothole did it

for a stock suspension..it sits kinda LOW..

go underneath your car and feel around and see if anything down there is leaking air dont touch the pipe of course. Check where that bracket connects to the lower engine so it holds it in place. Mine was leaking there with my aftermarket header so i just took the bracket off and welded up the holes and put it back and hasnt leaked ever since but now im leakin from the cat. Id check that are though and the flex pipe again.

aight..imma check that tomorrow when I take it to the garage...imma get up under it ..when they put it on the lift....and check it myself!

BUT..if that flex came loose...THEY'RE gonna fix it for FREE!!

BUT if indeed...it is leaking from the header/DP flange..Imma have em tighten it!

and if it don't fix it....Imma just have to wait to replace the entire Exhaust ( Header/ Cat/ Reso/ muffler )

like nail05 was saying, if its leaking right where you think it is.Than more than likely its the gasket.Basically its a metal ring.Depending on what exhaust mani u have, the f22a1 takes one gasket i beleive and the f22a6 takes two.But its very easy to replace them.but you could also try tighting the three bolts...good luck

haha ive been having that problem for hmm 6 mounths. the dp and mani is just loose. exept mine is more loose and sounds like braaaaaaaaaaaa papapapap braaaaaaaaa....its shity and no mader what i do i cant fix it cuz the one dam bolt is stripped. i wana try put a couple washers on so i can bolt on to a non stripped part but ive tryed that once and itd be the 5 time i had it up on the jackstand to try to fix that shit and im really getting tired of it....and im about to put my turbo on so.........ive been dealin w/ it for 6 mounths i think i can go a nother mounth.....unless one day im feel like tryin to fix it

if u tightn it and it still sounds like shit try replacing the gaskets cuz they blow apart if there old and the leak is big enough

yeah I got the F22A4 90 EX and I believe its 3 bolts..but yeah..Imma check that shiznit in the morning when I take it to the garage....and tighten it up...AGAIN..and see if that kills the NOISE....thanks mayne!!

the Exhaust is a STOCK 4-2-1 setup! I dunno if that would help!

UPDATE: yo..theres two ...one for that flange..and the round one that fits inside the pipe on a lip...so I guess the F22A4 and the F22A6 has the same setup as far as exhaust gaskets!

Dizzam...10PSI...I dunno...8PSI would seem to be SAFE....personally ..I wouldn't run anything more than 9PSI on stock internals. ( just being safe )

NOW..if I got it rebuilt...THEN I would play around and see what it would hold SAFELY...like 12-15 PSI for ( daily driving )
