90 accord ex distributor.

this might be stupid but here we go anyway. i have a burned out distributor for 90 accord ex. i was wondering if i can fix it. has anyone done this before. what can u guys tell me about this. it's just laying in my garage and i was just wondering if i can fix it. it cost about $150 to buy it rebuilt from the factory and about $200 if u wanna buy it at auto zone or pep boys etc.

get out your haynes manual and a volt meter and check the ignition coil and coil pack, it's probably the ignition coil which is $60 from autozone. those are common to failure. good luck

Either coil or ignitor. However if the distributor is leaking oil internally the entire housing must be replaced.

i don't think it was leaking. anyways i got someone who works at this car factory here in philly. he said that he might fix it at his work for free of charge. hopefully he keeps his word i will show u guys what was wrong with it.
