    distributor problems

how do i know if my distributor is bad? is there anyway to test it? is ebay a good place to shop for distributors or wheres a good place to buy one? since im gonna be getting a new distributor whats a good aftermarket upgrade one?

You'll know if your distributor is bad. If its about to go youll hear a high pitched squeel form the cap while the car is started up thats the bearing on the inside about to go. Uhh lets see while your driving your car will sputter while under normal driving conditions and while at wot your car will jerk and buck like its about to cut off. It jsut wont perform its normal functions and keep the car stable and running normal. Your car will also stall out and little stuff here and there.

internal or externjal coil? if its an external it could be that if its an internal its 4 screws that hold it to to the housin and 2 of the wires that connect to it. if its an internal and you change it and nothing happens get a whole new coil and distributor., if its an external change the coil. if nothing happens to either just change both.

get a manual....it will state what you need to do and give you the specs for resistance, etc.
