when i got my jdm h22 the only thing that was bad was the knock sensor. not that the sensor was bad, the part where you clip the harness on was busted off! so i never hooked it up because i searched the aftermarket world, ie pep boys autozone etc.. and honda and no one had a listing for it. besides the fact that the ecu throws a code.. is a knock sensor really necessary for performance. i mean will it run different without having it hooked up? some people say it doesnt hurt, some people i talk to say i need it? who should i believe?

Well heres what i did for another dude who i knew. We didnt have anything no sensors available so we used the original one. YOu take some wire you make a nice thick bulge and stuff it in the connector as far in as possible inside the part where it broke off right in the hole of the knock sensor. Take some jb weld and go all around the wire and put some electrical tape over it and let it settle for 7-8 hours and place it on there and dont pull it at all and it worked for him. To this very day he has yet to have a problem.

Im sayin he just broke the clip off it would be easir for him to just jb weld it to see what happens first by shoving the wire in there it would save him money rather than just goin to the junkyard to cut a wire . When he can just go through the steps ive taken shove the wire in the sensor hole jbweld it so that the wire stays snug in there and wire it up tot he ecu and thats it. If you dont connect the knock sensor it will act retarded and not run right thanks renr.

so you mean to say your knock sensor is broken. if your p06 is converted to p28 spec its basically a p28 now.
without hte knock sensor you may have retarded timing below 5k rpm meanig it will feel boggy, above 5k things will be pretty mcuh normal when its floored.
