    Fuel injector question

I am running a FPR with gauge. I wanted to know what the stock injector can handle as far as fuel pressure goes. I wanted to up the pressure a little bit but I am afraid of blowing my injectors.

stock is like 36-38 i think.....so up to about 40-45 is generaly done with mild mods. i have mine at 40 right now. it's trial and error to find the best place to set it at. why r u increasing the fuel pressure btw???

are you going lean? or do you just like to pay for gas? by the looks of your engine bay..i would put my money on the latter

LOL, no i am adding some more mods like a cam and such and I want to be able to up the fuel if need be. Its not like I am going to run outside and boost it to 70 psi, but after all the mods are done i may move it up to 42 max. Daily will prolly be in the 35-38 range though. Like I said I just dont want to blow an injector or something.

depending on the mods you are doing, you may want to consider bigger injectors. but if you are not going that crasy route yet, i don't think that your injectors can blow that easy. good luck.

if you just have some bolt-on's mainly then u could upgrade to a venom injector or something with about 10% more output. the venom injectors are about 264cc so u could go with an injector like that. unless u have turbo, very modded N/A engine or use the spray u may want to upgrade to even bigger injectors.

o and btw, with all the mods i have done including the fpr set to 40 and bigger injectors (264cc) i have gotten an average of a 6mpg increase. even with just the fuel rail, injectors and fpr (at 40psi) i noticed a slight improvement in mpg. mpg city is around 26-28. mpg highway is 30-34. highest i have gotten is something like 36mpg yey yey so don;t wry bout using a significant amt of extra fuel by setting the fuel pressure up even 4psi lol

No kidding....Well now My only worry is if i bolted the Adjustable FPR to my stock one well enough (its a universal type that i had to cut my stocker to fit this one on). I guess we'll find out once it all goes in. So I guess I will look into going up 2 40 psi. i just hope I got the right kind of gauge to work with my setup, but I wont know until monday or tuesday. I am putting all new o rings on the injectors though so at least i know it will be tightly sealed in the fuel rail.

if u have any leaking around the threads, use teflon tape. as to the FPR, if i doesn't sit flush then it will leak. just take it to a machine shop or something and have them make the surfaces smooth and flush

it looks like its on there pretty good. Actually I couldnt get the nuts any tighter and one of them even stripped a little while bolting it on, luckily it was as tight as can go. i actually thought of putting some soder on the seams of the fpr where it comes together but that might be overdoing it. I guess i'll know soon if its leaking or not.

u don't want to tighten them that much....just tighten them down to specs and if it leaks teflon tape works wonders hope it works out for ya

I jst snapped a bolt in the fuel rail. Oh well time to hit up the junkyard. and it looks like i Put the fpr on the wrong stock unit. I have a h23 rail and a f22 rail and I put the fpr onto the h23 stock fpr. Hope this all works or I am going to say screw it and sell this junk off.

A little late but, don't worry about blowing your injectors at 42 psi, I've had mine at 110-120 many times before and they still work. Good luck with the install, sux about the broken bolt. L8r
