Okay this may be a wierd question, so brace yourselves. I am 6'3, currently my ride is auto but it should be converted to 5spd by fall. I am thinking I may need a little more leg room to work the clutch considering I like my sterring wheel at its lowest setting. My question is, is it possible to relocate the seat back 6-8 inches without damaging anything below or are there longer rails in which can be installed/ or even modified. And oh I plan on taking the back seat out as well so it won't be in the way.

I'm 6'4".
Problems? A little. My left leg always rests on the steering wheel when clutching. It gets kind of annoying having your foot hovering over the clutch waiting to shift and trying to corner. Your hands and leg inevitably have an arguement. One remedy I'm going to try is to space the steering wheel out closer to my body. Also once I put a racing bucket in, I'm going to try to mount that as far back and as low as possible. Only issue that I can consider from that is reaching the shift knob. And the fact that my roll bar is right behind my seat as is.
As far as moving your seat 6-8 inches? I have no idea, though I think you'd run into problems with the integrity of the floorpan. I really don't know though.

I am 5'9'' and I have my seat pretty damn close to the wheel. When clutch pedal is fully depressed my leg is almost all the way extended. My leg hits the wheel a bit when waiting to clutch. I think the only way would be to somehow get the seat lower.Gary A.K.A. Carter

Im 5'11 and i dont have the seat all the way back so im pretty sure there is still some room. My knee sometimes hits the wheel but the wheel itself is adjustable so i dunno and my legs are like tree trunks so that doesnt help either.

Well my legs are right underneath the steering wheel basically. But like I said, I like to have my wheel at it lowest letting. I could raise it up a bit but then its like driving my truck. I like the feel of the low steering wheel. I guess I will have to go with aftermarket buckets huh. I just know when I change out the auto that I will definitely be having issues considering my left leg is in tight quarters already. Oh well. I ain't giving up my ride on this account no time soon so, I will just have to deal with it,lol.91 Ex CB9

no i prefer to keep the stock air bag equiped wheel. i don't wanna change out anything in the interior for aftermarket things. Only taking things out for weight loss is of interest. I guess I don't really know what problems i'll run into since i am not there yet. my leg rest on the dummy plate okay. it just grazes the wheel. i was just figuring in some movement and i'd be annoyed or feel cramped and be forced to have to set my wheel higher.91 Ex CB9
