    power locks??

does anyone know if it is possible to put power locks on a 92 DX if so does anyone know how?
If at first you dont succeed destroy any evidence you ever tried

Yes, it is possible, but not worh the hassle.

To do it, you have to get the power lock system from a car that has them, or from the Honda dealer. Then you must remove the locking guts from your car and install the powere lock system and run the wires.

Trust me. it's not worht the hasstle. I had to replase the power locks on ONE door on ym car and it was a pain in the butt.

If you DO decide to do this. I wish you all the luck in the world.

You will need to learn how to say a few things like:

    DAMN IT!!!!

    SON OF A B!TCH

    WHAT THE F*CK???

    and a few others.

    Good luck.

instead of getting OEM power locks, you can get an aftermarket alarm system with aftermarket solenoids.

I have an LX, which is equivalent to a DX in the US. I got an Alpine alarm with the door solenoids and installed for about $400 CND. So you could probly get it for $300 US, or less. Of course, i have a coupe, so if you have a 4 door, it'll be a little more expensive. I believe the solenoids were $50 CND each.

yes u can get a lock actuator for about 15 a piece i think..maybe 30. u wire it up to a pos neg connection switch...then tada....

alarm shops have this...and its fun to install =)
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Be carfeul if you decide to get them
I had them put in an alarm and power locks at PC richards and the locks started malfunctioning almost right away. Making Buzzing soudns and not operating properly. After 4 or 5 trips to get it fixed I said screw it and had them remove anything. I then went to a car stereo place by me and had them install a better alarm and DEI door actuators and they promised it would work fine. However they started malfunctioning on the passenger side again. I think that perhaps the locks are so hard to push up and down tehy break the actuator. It has been pissing me off for a while and I plan on taking it back to get fixed when I get a chance. So be careful if you do it!!

i bet the actuators are malfuntioning cause its not mounted right. usually thats the case.

I used to work at a stereo shop, and yes, if the actuator is installed correctly (i.e. it's at the set at the proper point to pull and push the lock mechanism rod, and it's mounted so that the solenoid's working angle is close to the trajectory of the factory rod) that actuator will work pretty much flawlessly for about 3-10 years of use before it eventually might die.

The VIP524T DEI actuators in the doors of my CRX have been going strong since they were installed (by me) in 1997 or so . . .

ok now after a while i finaly got a keyless entry system for my car and the power locks from a junk yard. although it was a pain in the ass to get it off the other car i finaly got it done. they are all installed great in my car. i did use the phrases above quite a bit but i got it done. now all i have to do is get my rear door handles and i will be set in that department thanks for everyone that helped me. and if anyone is looking for a nice security system with keyless enty i would greatly recomend the CSI 200 system from circuit city it comes with a DVD with instruction for easy instalation and detailed instuctions also it is deductable on your
                      insurance.
