ok i got two question one is if the valve is mechanicly controlled by vacum why do you need the ecu and is the control box the vacum diaphram in the pictures.

its not just a vacumn. its a vacumn control box.

if the diaphram is controlled by a vacumn, like in my setup...at WOT the diaphram opens because there is no vacumn.

if the control box was there like it should be, it will keep constant vacumn till 4700 rpm where it opens. that box is controlled by the ecu.

this is what im trying to figure out right now.

id get the ecu anyways cause i felt a better power gain and maybe a bit better fuel mapping when i had the new ecu in before the swap.

I got my control box, how do I test to see if it works without hookin it up to the ecu? Just right to the battery? - +?

i just did it...check this out.

hook up the black and yellow wire to the battery or somewhere where there is batt voltage.

then hook up the pink to a ground (nutbucket taught me that) and then if u hear it purge then that works.

Cool, it works! One step closer to the install! This is a lot more involved than I ever though that it would be, hope its all worth it!

Isn't your car an auto? If so, I was thinking your biggest mod would be a manual conversion. We have a 91 SE auto (F22a6) and I got my ass handed to me by a 91 5 spd LX w/AEM CAI only. We were taking off from 70 mph on the expressway, he started pullin on me by 80-85 mph or so.

hehe yea but traffic here is a no no. i dont mind being pulled on the freeway, haha i can pull more with this setup. im all good. hehe my manual car is my 300zx and thats good enough =-)

I already have an a6 in my lx..heh that rhymed. With the ECU I bought (pt6) it removed the speed govenor...now I can go past 130. I really want a sleeper car that will smoke these little Spivics (sorry I just cant stand them sometimes...) although im a sucker for an EG hatchback...I got smoked by an 01 Civic Coupe isnt that just sad ?
