Well how about that, a Respiratory Specialist trying to explain to an Engine Management Specialist how an O2 Sensor Works. If you really want to know how it works read my Basic Engine Management 101 thread.

        my final word on this

Im not gonna keep playing the back and forth of who's right, and call names like were in school. So if you want to continue to insult me and what I do for a living, then have a blast. So i'm gonna say three final things about this thread and me.

1)- very nice write up about the oxygen sensor..i agree with the information..dont know much about short ang long term fuel trim..guess say and example of ltft would be adding a cold air intake.(so the ecu can learn to adjust for extra air).

2)- im on here to offer suggestions to people with problems..im not here to misguide people intentionally..if i feel i have something relavant to share i will otherwise i wont. i dont think i make or have made numerous crazy irrelavant suggestions. and to those who correct me..thanks

3)- to those who i offended or thought i came across abrasive im sorry..
when im wrong im not affraid to admit it and apologize.

Finally again as above to those who think i have no clue as to what the problem might be then act like my reply isnt even there. to everyone else
        have a good one

Then delete your invalid posts so others do not get incorrect & conflicting info.
You are giving perceived tech advice you are not qualified to give.
No harm in anyone asking questions and giving their advice on here, but just make sure it is factual and not what you have interpreted as factual.
If you're not sure then post your advice in a way to let others know before bagging them for not knowing How Stuff Works. You come across to the masses as if you are a Professional but end up making yourself out to be an ill informed idiot.
The majority on here see me as a Know It All, Conceited dickhead, but I don't give a Fat Rats Arse because I have the Professional Credentials to back it up. I know this may sound harsh, but you will eventually learn from this.

          Cheers
          Geoff
