    Opening butterfly valves makes a diff.....

    Well i was fucking around with my car and i drove it around first normal. then i opened the butterfly valves to full drove it around then came back and opened them about halfway and theres an insane diff. So i have them open at halfway all the time. I was driving yesterday and it deff feels like theres more power. it get's my thumbs up.

    I know people made other threads saying they seemed to loose power but i dunno on this. it's weird.

        u do know that u can take the vacuum line off and it will stay open.....how can u open them half way..i wouldn't stick anything in the butterfly valve could damage it

          Yeah, but they are there for a reason. At low rpms, you want them closed to give you more torque. as the rpms increase, then the engine can actually use the secondary butterflies open, and they do.

          Leaving them open all the time will also burn more gas, especially if you do mostly city driving.

          I simply plugged mine straight into an open vacuum nipple, and that way they close at lower rpms, but when i am on it... they open.

            yeah i kno how they work , but in his case he was trying to see the difference w/ them open fully and closed fully....since i've tested it before i didn't want to write it all up and give it all away, gotta learn new things some how...

              But this is HALF-OPEN right??? very weird but interesting

              Open= high end gain
              Close= low end gain
              HALF= both ?? or funny flow for more hp?? or just the mind???

              Great achievements result from great effort

                so you bypassed the IAB box completely correct? then why does a person go through all the hassle of wiring up the IAB when all you can do is just bypass it and reroute the vacuum line directly to the IM? what's the pro's and con's?

                  yup, it'll also open earlier, i think around 4300 as opposed to 4500-4700

                  i thought it just oened at 4700 no matter wat, not at WOT.
                  i know i almost broke them loose when i chomped in 1st

                    the peice i had fell out. it was no diffrence. i just thought so.

                    and no i stuck a peice on the outside of the IM on the side where it controls the valves. oh well. My speculation sucks. cheer s
