    Removing lock lug-nuts

I was driving home today from the mall and realized i had just gotten a flat tire...no real biggy, lil P.O.ed but w/e. So i pull off to the side of the road, and walk around to check it out. Yup shes flat all right. So i pop the trunk, grab my spare, jack, and wrench. Sat down and popped off my center cap, and my jaw dropped...My dam stock wheels have lock nuts on them and i lack the knowledge of the where-a-bouts of the key/tool...

It isnt even something i noticed when i got the car, and now i have no idea where the tool is...I had my poor baby towed to my house and now she sits with a flat. I need to know about these things. Can i goto like an auto store and buy the key or are they all diff, how much they run? Also is there any other way to get it off without like breaking it. My last resort i guess is a Honda dealer, but thats gonna take forever for them to order and get it to me...HELP PLEASE! A man without his Cb is like a bird without wings...hes screwed and hes not going anywhere lol.

Sorry if this isnt in the right forum, didnt know what this would fall under cause theres no idiot/screwed forum...Please move if you wish, dont yell at me

did u check every where in the trunk for the key glove box or maybe behind the glove box in any little holes where the jack sits or some peopel stick them on the tire it self? if so wha tshape is it post a pic of the shape they might be honda lock nuts on them then u will hav to get them from honda but me i would try to fit something in there and take them off casue u dont want to know how much the keys are at honda, just try to fit soemthing inthere for enough levredge to take them all off and toss them out and get some reg lock nuts at autozone they have keys there and lock nut sets for like 10 bucks

Ya i searched my trunk for like 20 mins, glove box too. I gotta check behind the glove box, on the spare or something. I think its a OEM lock, its rounded with threaded edges on the outside, looks like there is some grooves/shapes on the inside where the tool would fit to get the leveredge needed to get it off.

I read about poeple who hammer a socket onto the lock and turn it slowly, as to not lose grip, till it comes off, great, but then im missing a lug not...and its prolly not the safeest thing to drive with only three on a spare tire.

so the outside is totally rounded?

if its got something to grab ahold of on the outside, they have those gator grip wrench things that have little nail like parts... it says it fits anything.

if you have some type of cutoff wheel, you could cut a groove in it, and hit into that groove with a hammer/flathead screwdriver to undo it.

Or if you had a cutoff whee, you could make your own bolt by flattening out the sides until a socket fits it.

Do all of your other wheels have them on there?

ok im going out on as limb but Check the Tire iron itself some locking nuts came with a tire iron itself the end looks like a wierd shaped socket already and it usually fits right on the lockin nut , if not they socket thing works for me e few times , Heat is sometimes a good way of getting them of a lil easier heat and some type of pliers will work but be sure not to melt anything on the wheel itself or it will never work again ,, LOL

Good luck Sorry this happen to you man

Thanks guys, i apreciate the suggestions. Ya i read about that Gator grip, it might work. The outside of the lock is completely rounded, with threads on it, so i figured if it wont grab then beat it till there is something for it to grab lol. I also read about someone who cut slits in it and used something flat to try and fit it into the slits like a giat flat head screw driver, might give that a shot. And ya all my wheels have them, if it was only that one id be really pissed lol, althought that would be my luck.

Im pretty sure i checked everything i thought could be the key lol but ill give it all a double check tom. i guess. The thing that sucks is i cant very well drive it to my local Honda dealer becuase A: tom is sun... and B: well i have a flat lol.

I would use the socket method. Use a socked like 1 or 2 sizes smaller than the lock and then hammer it in and use the ratchet with a long breaker bar on it and get it off. I prefer using either craftsman tools or something really high quality.

Ya i was gonna give that a shot tonight but i dont thnk my neighbors would apreciate lound bangs at 10 pm lol. The only prob i keep thnking about that is the outside of the lock is rounded like i said so it may be hard to get a socket on...ill give it a hell of a shot tommarow tho let me tell you...

This story had kinda a ironic ending...I had a pile of tools outside by my car and was about to destroy this dam wheel lock, when i decided i was thirsty. So i went in to grab a soda and just then, the phone rang. It was the guy i bought the car from (Actualy a close friend of the family, and hes Japanese...go figure lol) calling to tell me he found the tool to take off the lock in a box of stuff he tool from the car the day i took it...Timing couldnt have been better. I was about to kick this things ass lol.

So all went well, i got the flat off, donut on, and tomarow its to the local tire shop to hopefuly purchase four new tires, have them put on, then its off to local auto store for brakes cause i noticed they needed some lovin when the tire was off. Ill post pics of blown tire/new ones/other goodies tomarow if i have time.

I was going to suggest one of these things. I almost had to order one for my mom's audi until i bitched out the dealer, and they "found it."
