i know for a fact driving to virginia once, cruise control, no a/c, no windows down, cruise at 55mph, 2400rpm, i got 35 to the gallon. But my shit SUCKS in the city. Like 250 on a tank in city.

I get about 320 miles to the tank in city and get 450 freeway driving. Thats with me beating the crap out of it, if I kept my foot out of it I could probably get better. The car is now pushing 397K miles original motor and tranny. If you are getting bad gas mileage check your timing and fuel filter as well as the air filter.

I average 25 to 29 mpg's mixed city and highway driving. I've put 20,000 miles on it in a little over 9.5 months. Love it.

I used to get way less than 300mi per tank, driving normally just to and from work and not flooring it or anything but for some strange reason the past month-2 months I've been getting a little over 400mi per tank driving the same amount and the same way. I haven't done anything engine-wise at all. About 6 months ago i cleaned the intake manifold and stuff and all that but short of 2500 mile oil changes I've done nothing.

600+miles highway driving that is insane

i get about 25-28 mpg roughly that much with medium driving sometimes a high rpm or something. hell i havnt filled my tank forever i think ive only done that 3 times if that

New cap, rotor, and plugs (all getting to the end of thier service life) helped a bit. Also I find driving like grandma actually gives WORSE MPG. It seems to like the occasional workout. One of "those things" I guess. 50/50 city/highway and average 27MPG for the month of august. It better, I've spent too much on this car. lol

                      i avg. 25-28 mpg

1 off i must say i love my car. even being almost 15 years old. i think our cb7's are the most nicely classically slean styled cars on the road, even for accords. the 94-97's ewwwww! anywho carbon is probalby clogging up your shyt. whens the last major tune up. folks having poor gas milage should try
1)- cap, coil, wires, and plugs tune up
                      2)- new pcv valve
                      3)- new air filter
4)- new fuel filter if you can knowledgably change it
5)- run seafoam or chevron techron through fuel system
6)- new oxygen sensor isnt a bad idea either.
7)- a rottne egg smell from your exhaust could mean your catalytic converter is bad.
                      8)- change oil and filter.
9)- check your tire pressure and tread wear.

basically poor fuel economy is from improper maintainence or neglect.

                      good luck all

                        nice one xfactortype1.
                        other thoughts:
                        valve adjustments
                        dragging brakes
check TPS and other electrical if you're able to.
Cleaning intake manifold using one of the numerous methods.

I'd also add a good beat run to the list.

highway, ive easily gone 420 miles and still have a little less than 1/4 tank left... in the arizona desert, mind you. car is regularly maintained and runs on chevron regular gas. haven't really payed attention to city mileage. ill check it out.

i thought 93 octane cost more but burns slower

If i do highway mostly and then some city driving i can push it till about 650km then i get scared and wonder if my engines going to die before i reach the gas station , But mind u i us my CS and doing 115km/hr down the highway, If its all city i can push my tank to just a little under 550 before the light comes on, btw i don't hammer it alot haha, im a gas conusiose user haha. to much $$$/L these days.

edit - thats filling the tank to the max, Tank filler neck included =P
