SOS Quick(Cruise Cable)

I am trying to take out the cruise control vacuum thingy, and im trying to remove the cable from the pedal part. How is that pin in there? Do you just slide it out, or does it turn and pop out the top? Ive been wrestling w/it for a while, and it wont budge. Figure I will ask, and if no response, ill just cut it.

I cut it

I was trying to cut it, and it popped out... then I had to cut it so i could put the little grommet thing back in the firewall to cover up the hole. Oh well... it was rusty anyways.
