i think this is a poll on which engine he should get. Either that or its on which engine would you want.

Well, the poll ? is "What would be a good swap FROM an F22a6 SOHC" but it's slightly diff. from the thread topic, no biggie Well, no save the SOHC for you So I'd just jump straight to H22, that's prob. the best bang for your dollar but you can also build anyone of those motors too

Yeah, I was reffering to what engine would you replace the F22Ax with. I don't want to piddle around with my F22A6 anymore and I want to upgrade from it. Those 3 listed are what I had in mind and the "other" option is exactly that. BTW, if anyone here needs a block sleeved, my machine shop will do it for $90 per hole.

yes but what are your plans for this motor, fully built? boost? nitrous? Na??
how much money are you looking to spend can you swap it or pay someone?? i mean no offense or anything to you, just think about those questions and research em a little more, there is TONS of info on every one of those motors right here from this site, along with personal experiences from some people

The problem that I'm having is I know the F series dohc engines are both better than my sohc f series, but what about perf parts? Like cams/pistons etc? The sohc F series has none that I am aware of. I was debating the F22B but I'm not too sure yet....lol. Trying to get the performance per dollar.

I am shooting for 250whp. I know an H22A with a few mods and higher comp. pistons would get there. I'd really like to run boost or nitrous. That's my long term goal.

np man i know what your saying.
how mechanically inclined are you, do you work on your own stuff?? this could be important also, because if you have the skill enough you can just do a headswap and get some nice gains and work from there. there are many ways to make frankenstein motors; look for posts by Wikkedd16 (sp) sorry if its wrong wikked lol, but anyway he knows a whole lot of info on frank motors so def check out some of his posts and others. a F22/H23 hybrid makes a great boost motor. your best bet right now is like someone mentioned earlier SEARCH. soak up all the info you can and see what would fit you.
