    Engine timing & bUILD QUESTION

ok guys, got a couple things to check out. I have a 93 accord with the basics, ( headers, CAI Intake, cat back exhaust, test pipe) Ever since i swapped the headers, i get a check engine light. Its off until i start the car and about 5 sconds later it kicks on. I pulled the code and it says O2 sensor. I bougt a new one and its the same thing. A friend said that its cause the intak and exhaust is pushing too much air for the computer and that it throws it on. He said there is a gapper type thing that will slide on the sensor like a washer. Anyone have this prob?

    Question 2
My accord recently had some problems, I swapped out the distributor for a new one and now it wont start. tHE first swapo i did i didnt set timing and it started but ran horrible. I turned it off and removed the new distributor and st it at TDC (MAYBE A HAIR OFF) and then reinstalled. This time the car begins to start normally but kills just as it begins to fire. You think timing is still off?

A side note. My taxes will be in this next week and i want the motor rebuilt. Beside PNP on the head, what do u guys suggest me getting doen at the shop? What should i request? I planning on driopping around $3k on this beast. Sorry guys im keeping th e f22a1 and want to put a t25 turbo i got on it. Whats your advice oh wise cb7'ers. I am in need of your wisdom!!!

Not sure about the first one, the second one.... check and see if your dizzy is 180* off, and the wires are on in the right firing order... the third one, ditch the t25 =D

kool thanks for the info, will the t3 fot the t25 manifold? and if it is off just rotate the crank half way to fix it correct?

No, actually you'll have to reference the NO.1 cylinder at TDC, then align the ditrib. I guess that you could use the crank timing mark (remove that rubber plug on the trans housing) to find TDC, but rotating the crank pully 180 degrees only moves the cam gear about 1/4 revolution I believe. (crank/timing gear is half the diameter of the cam gear)

well i did remove the plug and lined the marks up. then i reinstalled the distributr. it was completley off. Then it sounded like the car was trying to start but was killing it self after a couple seconds. ohh and more bad news my interior got ransacked last night. They stole $900 worth o\f car audio, lucky me they didnt pop the hood and get the msd etc..

Sheesh....that sucks man. Do you have a manual for your CB? I would reference that, or search here for an online manual.

Rotor has to be on the #1 plug/wire when the #1 cylinder is at TDC. Otherwise, nooooooo good. Also, check the firing order.....wires could be off. That sounds likely to me if it wants to fire but wont idle.

It's impossible to get the Dizzy Timing 180* out, they have an offset slot and only go in one way then it's a matter of Statically Timing it before making final adjustment. The only way the timing can be 180* out is if the Cam Timing is out. If it's starting then cutting straight out, check the Dizzy Wiring or the Main EFI Relay.

Check if you've got a dizzy rotor on... People do it on a daily basis.

I have to ask but did you re-set the code after changing the O2?
Check the plugs to see if they have fouled real bad and prevent it from starting IF you have checked for spark!
