    S-Afc II question.

Is it ok to hook up an S-Afc to a chipped P06 ECU? I was thinking of getting one. Thanks

if it is chipped, i assume you are running uber, so why would u need a safc?

I just don't have time to go down to florida to re-tune it. Will it work ok?

well uber is vac/boost dependant (dumps in fuel depending on how much vac/boost it is seeing at diff rpms) and an safc (if the same as a vafc) is just rpm dependant, so yes it will work, but i think it would be easier just to buy a chip burner and burn the chips yourself - eliminating the need to go to florida. Because tuning with an afc is hard and will result in a fucked up engine in time...

Don't do it alex, your turning your back to the best solution again. Buy a chip burner, its still cheaper the s-afc. Like high c said uber is load and rpm based. If you start tricking the ecu with the s-afc (BTW thats exactly what the s-afc is...a trick) then your going against how the car currently runs. Go to moates.net, buy a burner. Simple as that.

So even if I tune the AFC on the dyno, i'll still mess up my car? Or will it just not be as effective as uberdata?

It'll be okay... it's just advancing timing... so depending on how much your bin is advancing then you are just running more timing than what is in the bin.... so depending on how safe your bin is and if you are running at the ragged edge of detonating you will probably start to have problems if you already have alot of timing... but for NA motors tuned more on the conservative side it isn't really an issue...

at least that's how I understan dit... I could always be wrong...

but it really is like using 2 tools for the same thing...

I've done it myself but it was only because I wanted to play with the AFC a little... and I'll probably continue to do it since I'm NA... until I start approaching that edge a bit more...

on the other hand... my car did end up with a broken timing belt... although unrelated... but still worthy of note I spose... lol
