    Problem with auxillary fan...

I have a '92 lx with the 5 spd...I noticed sometimes when the car sits idleing for a short period, the smaller aux/AC fan (not talking about the larger main radiator fan)would kick on...and this would be accompanied by a very noisy and annoying rattle. The sound would last for a monent, then the fan would shut off and the sound stops. The fan is shot, there is a ton of play in the fan shaft and I know thats where the sound is coming from...

What I want to know is, will it have an adverse effect on the car if I was to disconnect the Aux fan? I dont care if it effects the A/C, since my compressor is shot anyway. Im just worried if the car will run hotter or not with that fan disconnected. I just want the damn noise to go away wihtout having to replace the fan...

being you reside in Jersey and it is winter time,, it might not affect it that much at all,, it is a good idea to keep an eye on the temp gauge to make sure engine will not overheat,,,, come summer time ,you might have to install a new motor,,

If the AC Compressor is Shot & The AC Aux Fan Is Shot. Then Rip the AC Condensor Out and you wont have any problems later on. Better still rip the whole AC System Out of the Car.
