    temp question

i kno this may sound a little noob-like but im juz a rookie..

weel anyway heres the thing i got my new water pump installed.. then i juz noticed the temp is always near 1/2 , is this normal? or weired? .. from my old pump its not close to 1/2 (only over 1/4).. then earlier this day, i was on a stoplight the temp went over the 1/2 a bit and stopped there (never reached 3/4) ( i was on stop for more than a minute).. then when i go it went down to below 1/2 to its normal temp then it never came back up. so i was wondering since its a 13-yr old car , u think its a good time to change the thermostat? but all hoses are good..

yeah, check your thermostat, and make sure your radiator is not f'd up (make sure fluid "runs" through it, and doesn't get clogged up)

also, make sure your cooling fans are working. they may not always be on, but as long as the car is hot, they should be moving.

Other than that, 1/2 way on your temp gauge is normal. thats about where it should be at all times.

Also make sure you have a 50:50 Coolant Mix and have Bled the System correctly, but the temp gauge ranges are OK.

Check the coolant. It might be low because of air pockets that sent into the system when you drained it.
