Yeah, so as far as I know, we're supposed to run 91 octane in H22's right? Cause of the knock sensor and being a higher compression engine. Correct me if I'm wrong...
But...say I were going on a road trip. I know it's only saving a few bucks, but it adds up....is there anything wrong with using regular 87 octane level fuel if I'm just going to be on a highway crusing at around 3700-3800 RMP, but not killing it or anything like that? I'm not going anywhere now, I went to Ottawa yesterday and used 91 anyway, but I was just wondering if it would be so bad.
Also...about the F22...I was reading through my owner's manual a while back, and I noticed that it said we should use 91 octane in our stock engines...WTH? I've never heard anything like that and not mine, nor my mom's 92 EX-R had ever been run with anything other than 87 or Regular. Funny thing is, after stating that, the booklet then added "running a higher octane fuel than this is not necessary and will not give you any gains in terms of reliability or performance." Or something to that extent....What do they mean "HIGHER" octane? Most gas stations, up here at least don't have anything more than 91, and a handful, Petro-Canada, as far as I know, is the only one that even has 94....I just find it ironic that they say to use 91, and add using anything higher than 91 won't change anything....there hardly is ever anything higher than 91 available in the first place!
We all did/do run Regular gazo in our F's right?
