Got a prob, Distibutor or belt or .....?

First up i want to thank god for giving us this site. You dont know how much help its been.
OK now to businss, I have a 93 honda accord lx. It has the following mods
    MSD 6al ignition module
    blast 2 coil
    NGK Iridium plugs
    NGK Spark plug wires
    Bomz Cold air intake
    OBX Headers
    Test Pipe
2.25 mandrel bent cat back exhaust, (Fire ball)
    And a few interior mods.
Ok I bought the car 2yrs ago stock and have been modifying as i can. It has 183000 miles on it. Its does have a lil oil in cylinder 2 and smoked a lil upon start but other then that no probs.
The other day, the car started making a loud noise under the hood. It sounded like the distributor area was were it as coming from. My dad checked it out and he said it had no knock and that it needed to be checked. The next day i had to run a eron and i ran to a friends house, the car drove fine,(excluding the sound) an hour later I start the car up and runs awful. It sounded like some one put the plugs on the distributor in the wrong order. I though i only live like 5 minutes hinme so i risked it. I took off slowly and it ran awfully, backfiring and couldnt really put it to low rpms cause it start to die. I pulled to a light and at idle it died. It would not start again. No smoke no nothing. It turns over but nothing else. No check engine light nada. The next day i recheck it, still wont start. I pop off the fuel line and test it and its getting fuel. I popped off the distributor cap and theres oil in it as well as lil shaving of it looks like metal in the cap. The rotor of the distributor is liek white baked. I popped the roto off and replaced the cap and roto and it still wont turn over. I checked the distributor roto and its not moving when i crank it. Some one told me its a burnt out distributor due to the MSD/COIL/PLUGS/WIRES Sending high voltage threw. Another says my timing belt is messed up (i havent had a cahnce to check it yet) another says it sounds like internal engine failure

I lovethis car and would really like your opinions. You guys have never let me down in the past.
    Thnk you

    check timing belt first

Before you do anything else, pull the valve cover and upper timing cover and check your belt to see if it either popped or slipped a tooth at least before you bend up any more valves. Next, if you say you leaked oil in the dizzy, check the O-ring, the oil could have damaged the electronic parts in the dizzy, also check the shaft in there sometimes it goes bad and couldve been that noise you hear. Try cleaning the dizzy with break cleaner thoroughly and crank again, after you check the timing of course. Make sure your getting spark or not.

Nah fuck that do this. To check to see if your distributor is assed out. Take the firt sparkplug thats on the drivers side then put it ontop of the valvecover. Then have it pointing towards you with the screwdriver in the sparkplug itself if you dont see a blue light when you try to crank it over that means your distributor has now officially took a shit on you. If that doesnt work keep us posted.

Well, if his dizzy aint moving, that isnt gonna help.... If I were you, your #1 priority should be to check and see if that timing belt broke / slipped....
Does the engine crank faster than normal?? That is one sign of a broken t-belt as well as the dizzy not rotating....

Umm.. Didn't you read his post. He's already had the dizzy cap off and said the rotor wasn't turning.

If the timing belt has left the building and the engine is turning over without effort then he's up the creek. They are an interferance Engine. Read: Bent Valves!! Ouch!!

                      R.i.p.

I checked the car this morning, i pulled off the valve cover and timing belt cover, the timing belt is there on the gear, but i inspected my cam/rocker assembly and found dime to nickel size chunks of metal? or grim? not buold up on the walls but lieing next to the cam. Also 2 of my rckers arms are loose, like i moved them up and down with my fingers the others i couldnt. i popped the distributor off again and shot it with brake cleaner and the three wire on the side of it, 1 of them is like melted away, the other is bent all out of whack and slides off at will. After evaluating the condition of it as well as the lielaga history etc. etc. I have decided to Promounce the Car Officialy Dead
