    Overheating/Fan!! Problem!!

Ok people i been having this problem for a while and now its pissing me off. Well it all started when it started to get a little cold out side and i turned my heater on in my car and nothing but cold air was coming out. i didnt know what the problem was so i changed my thermolstat and gasket to see if that was the proble. and no nothing. so then i did a flush. and still nothing. so i was like ok i dont care cuz am only driving the car for the summer and thats it and am going to put it away soon.
So.. two days later when i got to my house after riding it for a while i turned the car off and noticed that my fan was on after i turned the car off. umm it turned off about 20 secounds later so i tought nothing of it. The next day the same thing. fans would kick on after i turned the car off. After about a month with that. i noticed that when i stoped at a stop sign "this is after the car is warmed up" the guage of Hot and Cold would move from the middle "Normal" to about 3/4 the way up. after i start driving it would go back to normal "since its cold out side and the cold air from out side is helping it cool back down". well after all that i noticed that my fans would not turn on at all when am driving and only turn on after it ride it for a while and its hot and then when i turn off the car thats when they turn on...
so... i took the car to midas. they looked at it and said my car was runing on to much water. thats why my car was overheating a little. well they gave me a good flush. well. the minute i left from there and i got to the red light. my Guage went all the way to H. i was like what the F@#%.... i went back and said what did you cuz do. my car was overheating but not to a point of it going all the way to H.
ok so what do i do... I change the Water Pump. Another Thermolstat. Colling fan Sensor, Check the relays,New timing Belts, Radiator pressure cap, I did a turn up also.... And ya people Still the same story..
It doesnt overheat to the point of going to H anymore but it still goes 3/4 of the way. Now here is the thing...
When the car is still and its turned on , it can be turned on forever and wont overheat at all. but once i drive it thats when it does it . but here is the thing also that i noticed and might be the problem of maybe why the fan isnt turning on..and maybe why its overheating..
People that might know a 93 Honda accord. there is a holes that goes from the engine to the Radiator. and then there is another holes that goes from the bottom of the Radiator to the Thermolstat.
Well the holes that goes from the bottom of the radiator to the thermolstat part doesnt get hot at all compared to the other holes. The other holes could be hot and the other one would still be cool. and with that am thinking since the sensor is next to the thermolstat for the fan. since the antifreeze isnt hot when its suppose to its not going to tell the sensor to turn on at the right time.

Now does the antifreeze run clock wise or counter?

Would anyone please know what the problem could be.....

    Thanks Alot..

The radiator may be clogged which is restricting coolant flow at low engine speeds. This is a common problem if you're using aftermarket coolant especially if the radiator is pretty old. From what you describe, that would be my guess.

Also, don't listen to those jack-asses at independent shops like Midas. Too much water will cause corrosion, too much coolant is what can cause it to run hot...not the other way around.

We'll I would start off with the simple things first off in the overflow tank when it overheats but first things first check your radiator does it leak at all? what color is your coolant if its brown instead of green its a blown headgasket. If you have a compression tester use that to rule weather of not you have a blown headgasket. or you can check out the thermostat did you change that? there are so many factors and do you have enough coolant 50/50 mix.

First of all, get a spell checker installed on the computer.

IMPO, I'd be taking the thermostat back out and testing it in hot water to make sure it is actually working correctly. Just because it is new doesn't necessarily mean it's OK. ONLY USE AN OEM HONDA Thermostat. I have had to replace New Thermostats numerous times because of this. Check for witness marks for sticking. Make sure when you install the thermostat that the little (Jiggler) bleeder valve is facing up.
Also when you refilled the radiator did you bleed the cooling system from the bleeder nipple at the thermo housing??? Air locks in the cooling systems can cause havoc.
As 'mrhonda' said DO NOT Listen to anyone who says straight water is OK.
Premix your OEM HONDA Coolant 50:50. 1 litre Coolant for every 1 litre of water.
Don't forget to bleed the cooling system. Run the engine @ idle until the thermo fan cuts in, keeping your eye on the coolant level when the thermostat opens. If it drops suddenly top up radiator slowly. Once the thermo fans cut in, the coolant level will drop a bit, top up and Install a NEW OEM HONDA Radiator Cap. Top up the overflow reservoir with 50:50 Mix. Take it for a drive. In the morning before starting the car, recheck the coolant level in the radiator and top up if necessary.
Let us know how you go.

i had an overheating problem similar to where my fans would only come on after the car was shut off. me and my dad just replaced the thermostat and that solved the whole problem. so i would suggest checking it again.

well i have changed it two times already. the first time and then when i changed the water pump i changed it again.

Which way does the Coolant go? clock wise or counter? if its clock wise then it would have to be the clogged radiator.

Good advice F22-GURU However you don't need to add any water to Honda coolant, its already pre-mixed 50/50 coolant/distilled water, alll you have to do is pour it in.

i changed the thermostat on it twice and i flushed it once my self and then when midas did it,it really overheated. there is something that is making the holes that goes from the thermostat to the under of the radiator not to warm up. if the radiator was to be clogged then the upper holes that goes from the radiator to the engine would be cool not the other one. so its not the radaitor.. so am thinking maybe inside the engine somewere there has to be something clogged or something is up. what i need to know is how do you really, and i mean really clean out and flush a Honda accord the right way? maybe ill do that first before jumping to anything more else....

Remember the coolant runs counter clock wise.....

                    again...
How could u really flush and really clean it out to make sure there isnt any air or air pockets or anything left in the coolant system?

leave the radiator cap open and keep pouriong until its at the tip=top and wait for the bubbles to cease from coming up .
