    header removal problem

well i was trying to remove my stock f22a1 exhaust manifold earlier myself because i dont feel like paying $150 to get my new HP Design headers installed. i had every bolt removed all the way to the cat but then i noticed a little bracket behind the stock manifold that attaches the manifold to the block i guess. i cant seem to be able to get any wrench behind there to budge the bolts and theres not much room in the space.... do i have to remove my radiator or is there a special trick or tool to use? thanks all input is greatly appreciated.

There is a braket there and I got lucky and my braket was broken and I didnt bother to put it back on. And I think you have to get it from under the car and i know its a bitch to get wrench in there but you have to try still. Use a ratchet with a short socket.

ok there are 2 Bolts in it one you can barelly get from the top and the other one lay down under the car " make sure its up high enough for these type of things man " look up u should be able to get a socket in there with an extention and a swivel head on it , Just did mine a month ago and thats how I got them out .. NOTE : The Top 'one is a Bitch but it will come out with a socket and a swivel head also ,,,

          Good Luck
          Hope This Helps

You only have to remove the bolt that connects the manifold. It is a 14 mm as I remember. Once its off, the manifold will come off with a couple love-taps. Remember, it's formed a very close bond over the years with the engine and the A pipe.
