    No power below 3k RPMS

Hi, if you guys didnt know im new to accords and F series engines. I have always had Eg's before.

I know that in the D series engines had little /no pickup below 3k rpms so i didnt expect much out of it.

In my accord it seems that if im below 3k rpms that the car just has no power whatsoever, it is ungodly slow to pickup in the 2- 3k range. I was wandering if this is normal for the accords and f22a1, i know that the car is slow, and heavy. but i just wanna have some idea of how this engine is supposed to perform.

    (im guessing this is normal)

thats normal.......your experiancing "lack of torque". do a complete tune up. fluids, filters, everything. plugs and all.

i have done, new plugs, wires, dizzy cap, rotor, seafoam, has only 10k on timing belt.

        needs radiator flush.

k&N filter on the way (it has a brand new purolator stock replacement on it with less that 100 miles)

im thinking about getting the timing checked but i dunno how much that will cost to check it out...and i have looked at DIY's for using a timing light to check it but i cant comprehend it very well.

Do you have a auto trans? If you do, is it starting out in 1st gear or is it starting out in a higher gear? That would cause it to be sluggish.

also my exhaust sounds like complete shit, its the original muffler which is rusted to hell.

think CAT might be clogged up and causing this issue?

              5 speed manual FTW!!!

in first gear it does fine, this only happens 2nd and up

A clogged cat would also cause the issue

only 1 more reason to upgrade to a better exhaust.

dc-s 4-2-1 header, high flow cat, 2.5 inch catback sound good?

actually i dont have the money for that.....oh well.

i also did a valve adjustment (myself) about a week ago, it was the first time i had ever done one. could doing that wrong affect it in any way?

If you got the valves too tight they can stick open and you would loose compression, that would affect perfomance.

1 question for doing a valve adjustment.

when i did it before, there was (what felt like to me) a "slight resistence(sp?)" on the feeler gauges, if you kept the gauges level then it slid in and out with a little drag, if you got a little off level then the gauges would bind up and bend.

that (to me) seemed like a perfect adjustment...but i dunno

Sounds like you coulda tightened the valves too much, also sounds like you could have an exhaust leak if it is all THAT rusty.
