have you ever been low on oil at all? this happened on my old dsm and i ended up spinning a rob bearing. it could also be you may have low oil pressure. you can change the switch, its cheap and easy to do and after if it goes away then you should be good but if it comes back on you might want to look at your pump

Have you done anything to the vehicle immediately before this happened or did it just start happening??
Sounds to me light a short from the brake switch circuit to the instrument panel brake globe warning, oil light warning lights.
Check the wiring circuits for shorts to ground.

Theres a short or the oil pressure switch is screwed or the plug is disconnected.

Yeah, check the pressure switch (above/below oil filter). You should prolly just replace it, since its like 5 bucks.

If you hear extra metallic sound on startup, then it may be your oil pump... or if you lose oil pressure around left turns while the revs drop.

The light only comes on when it has been driven for a while...for example 30min. (like today) and it has to be at an idle.....

i'ma check on the pressure switch this week, since it would be a cheap replacement and i will start there first..

BTW what would the pressure switch be called in the Haynes manaul because its not listed as oil pressure switch

                  thanks guys

I believe what is being called a "switch" in this thread would actually be the oil pressure "sender."

It would also be a good idea to put on a New Oil Filter and check the oil pressure as well.

It is a switch because its either an on or off signal (digital) not a varying (analog) voltage reading like a gauge would need...

Sj960 is right, Switches are for Oil Lights & Senders are for Oil Pressure Gauges,
The Haynes Manual calls it an Oil Pressure Sender
Usually Switches have One Wire & Senders Have Two Wires.
