Bang Bang Bang, Lower End Pounding with only 120k on the engine!

That's right, bout 11 at night and my engine decides it doesn't like me any more and wants to start pounding away, sounds like rod bearings. So Hey I'll do a DYI on replacing your bearings if it turns out to be that when I drop the pan off! Stay tuned for updates.

what do you think the cause is? changing your oil prematurely?

Might be best to figure out the cause of the noise before guessing at it's origin.

Premature oil change..... That would be the first time I've ever heard of clean oil causing your rod bearings to go :P But the pan is off and the verdict is #4 piston rod bearings are toast! Yay, what caused it? Nothing specific from what I can see, it was simply their time to go. I just picked up an f22a4 for 200 bucks from a buddy so I'll be swapping that in to rebuild this engine and build it for boost, The project has started! Tis a shame it had to start this way but hey motive is motive.

I saw the thread title "Bang Bang Bang, Lower End Pounding..." and thought this was a pr0n subject that should be in OT.

Too bad it went out and the engine was so young too.
