hmm thats cool i always thought you couldnt put it donwn that but if it works hey and the benifit of that would be when you fill your tranny the car needs to be level and if you dont have 4 jackstands thats a great way to do it

You probably could to it that way but it would be a huge hassle. You'd have to take off the air intake just to get to the VSS. Then you'd have to disconnect the VSS, making sure you keep that little spinning rod, fill it through a tiny hole in an awkward location. You're much better off just using the fill hole.

Get a large syringe without a needle. The bigger the syringe, the better. The best are the ones for animals, especially horses. Put a length of vacuum hose on the end. Now you've got a device that can push the oil horizontally so you don't have to hold a funnel and hose above the fill hole.

make sure ur using a huge hose if ur using anything synthetic, or this could take a few hours. i know from expierence unfortunately

Someone had posted that they were filling the transmission through a vent hole. This may work! BUT!!! He/she didn't make any mention of removing the fill/check plug and letting the fluid level off. The bottom of the fill/check plug is the full mark on the manual transmission.... not the top of the vent hole.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.
