Sure there are quite a few threads already, but you can try push starting it. Is it manual or auto?

Have someone tap the starter solenoid with a hammer while you crank it, if it starts then, get a new starter.

If that doesnt work, jump your clutch switch and see if it starts then (top of clutch pedal)

Slow start??? Sounds like battery/ground/short to me.

its an auto but i dont think that it is a ground otherwise all electrical components wounldnt work properly. its not a slow start it just clicks once when i turn the key and thats about it doesnt even start to crank, all i can think is possibly main relay but that woundnt cause the starter to slow down so i think it may be the starter more than anything, thanx for your replys guys if anyone has anyother ideas let me know.

It's your starter. My 91 accord was doing the same thing and would even start sometimes when it wanted to with no problems. Other times it would have a hard time starting, and other times I turn the key, and nothing....not even a click. I took the starter out (Easy to take out; only has two bolts on top and bottom and another one that connects to the positive terminal) took it to autozone and had it tested three times and it finally failed on the third go (shaft wouldn't extend) Autozone has a remanufactured one w/ lifetime warranty (Mitsuba) for like $79.99 with a $30.00 core charge.

starter. you had me at "it clicks once" so sounds like your pinion gear isn't spinning once it has been properly pushed out when the solenoid tells it to... its done.

and your right, its not your main relay - your main relay has nothing to do with your starter, so good job on that deduction

you can easily find more info about your starter and people with the same problem by searching here, or by going to your local pep boys and picking up a haynes manual

or start here: http://cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.p...tarter+problem and look through the first few posts, like the one about banging on it to see if it helps (aero, you mention that in this thread, too)... or checking your ground wire.

if you go through all this and change out your part and STILL have some bizarre issue, please feel free to come back and tell us
