    Rear suspension clunking

What's the deal? The rear right suspension sounds like a strut is blown, but I just replaced both struts. WTF IS THIS NOISE??? IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!!!! Primo said it's prob. the UCA bushing but I'm not sure. What should I check for? My right side has been kinda funny since I ran through a pothole that took out both tires...could that have killed the bushing?

Mine has done that since I dropped it a year ago. I remember i couple other people here said the same thing.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

yeah try the bushings , i also ran into a deep pothole which came out of nowhere then after a few days , my front suspension clunks.. then i brought it to a mechanic , the found that the front bushings were loose and broken, after it was done.. it was no problem.. so try to check yours..

That must be what it is...I'll check it out and replace stuff accordingly. I remember my front suspension was clunking when I was on springs, and it turned out the bumpstop had been pressed onto the shaft...fun stuff. But yea I'll get the rear suspension checked out soon.

Glory, get at me on AIM (Accord EX SE), we can narrow this problem down.

          Here is something meanswhile...

If your ride height in the rear is not normal or uneven, it's most likely the coil springs (fractured).

If you do the push-down method on both rear corners, if it bounces excessively (like 3 or more bounces) your shocks are blown on that side.

If you have a rear sway bar, it may be the end-links are shot OR the inner bushing U-bracket broke (has happened to me).

I haven't seen any of our Accords have problems with the rear upper control arm inner-bushings. I doubt it is that.

hit me on AIM for further info and help...

Dood, you're not on...my sn is WuBlue62, I wanna ask you some other stuff too...

In any case, my rear shocks are brand new, and the springs have been on the car for about 9 months (Tanabe DF210s). When I raise the car nothing jiggles around, so I doubt it's the balljoint. I'm thinking something is seriously wrong though; I might need a whole new hub- when I pulled the old shock, the shaft was bent. That might be a consequence of the new geometry from the car being lowered w/o an alignment, but still...that pothole really did a number on my suspension. I'm gonna get it checked out...hopefully it's just a loose bolt or something cheap.

My solution to clunking sounds has been and will always be:

Jack the car up, take off the wheel, and look for a gap somewhere where it doesn't look like there should be one. Wiggle stuff around, and more than likely something will move.

I'm guessing it's a bushing. Both of my stabilizer bar linkages failed within about 6 months of each other due to old, hard, crubling busings. Same thing happened on my wife's rear sway bar. Same symptoms you describe.
I swear, eventually I'll run out of things to break.

I guess I was wrong... I broke it all. Died 10/29/06
