    Door leak

Just went out to my car to get a CD and noticed that the speaker area on the drivers door is completely soaked. It rained last night so that is where the water came from, but I've never noticed it wet like that before. I had the door seal replaced recently so I'm shocked that it leaked. It isn't wet anywhere else, just the speaker area which sucks because I don't want it to ruin the speaker!

    Anyone had this problem before?

I guess in the meantime I'll take it back the shop that put the door weatherstrip on and see what they say.

Also be sure to make sure that the drain holes are not clogged. A pipe cleaner would help clear them out.

Where are the drain holes located?

At the bottom of the door. I believe there are 2 for each door. Did you cut out the speaker baskets at some point?

i have the same problem. do you have aftermarket door speakers? did you remove the speaker in-door speaker pods? they actually prevent water from coming into the door panel. the water travels down the window channel. it should drain but somehow it goes around the speaker then eventually in the panel. i don't have pods in my doors and it gets wet only when it rains hard for awhile (~5-hrs).

Thats probably my problem right there. I replaced them with some Eclipse 5" mids back when I bought the car. I know they had to shave down the speaker pod things. Now since its an EX it has that plastic box thing that is supposed to make it sound better. So I don't know if that fucked it up or what. I usually have my car garaged so I guess thats why I've never noticed it before. Just happened to rain on a night when I was at a party.

The funny thing is that the passenger door speaker doesn't get wet.
