How often should I replace the filter on my ractive intake?

I replace mine like every 3rd oil change to keep everything running its best even if it doesnt need it. i live in florida so i dont have to change it very often. i guess it depends on where and how much you drive...I'm trying to find a universal K&N cause $20+ a pop gets old.i would rather clean it than replace it.

I bought an APC short ram intake (bad move on my part) and once the filter was dirty, I just bought a K&N Filter (Special order from Auto Zone) and the $10 recharge kit, and now I just clean. I should have gotten an AEM to begin with, would have saved me money, the K&N Filter was like another $50 on top of the $70 I paid for the intake.

well ractive filters dont really filter very well i had one and soon realized that i was better off getting a nice filter that i could clean instead of change, some thing you might want to look into is the bmc carbon dynamic airbox, got o google and type it in its sick i have one and absolutly love it.
