    head studs

    Im in the process of doing a motor swap and i cant get one of the head studs on the stock f22a off. if your looking at the engine its the passenger side back corner of the head. anbyone else have this probl;em if so how did you get it off, without stripping the head or breaking the bolt.

    I had that problem. I had to drill the middle of the bolt and chistle the rest of the head of it off. You did take it off in the right order, right?

      spray some PB blaster on it... wait a few minutes come back and try again

        Yup. That stuff works wonders. Saved my ass when I was doing the downpipe from the exhuast manifold...those damn bolts are hella tight!

          I used a 12 point craftsman 14MM socket 1/2 drive to take the bolts out...All you got to do is put a piece of pipe on your ratchet and pull. It took some muscle but I got it done.

            Yeh I just broke two of those craftsman 12 point sockets two days ago pulling a head. Impact socket, 1/2 ratchet, and a three foot pipe.
