what exactly is wrong with the mount? If its possible i'd just try to slide some polyurethane in there and see if that works. Its not difficult to get to the rear mount if the intake manifold is taken off but after looking at my engine bay i think i could do it with just the intake off...possibly. The other way ppl have said is to take off the front crossmember

Front Rear Crossbeam, to be exact; and you don't want to take that route. There's a lot of shit in the way, it weighs about 60 pounds, so it's heavy when it finally comes out, and from the sound of it you aren't ready to tackle the job that way. You can get to it from the top, but like he said, you have to remove the intake manifold.

If you only have a socket set then don't bother trying to do this yourself unless you're prepared to buy more tools. I have a 1/4" socket wrench, a 3/8", two 3/8" Torque wrenchs, a 1/2" wrench, and a 3/4" wrench (all socket wrenches, the x/x" measurement is the drive), more sockets than I can shake a fist at, and I can still think of others that I need. It could very well end up costing you more to do this yourself than to pay a mechanic. However, after two or three jobs like that you accumulate enough tools to begin to bring the cost of the work down (a lot). If I were you I'd get a manual and start tearing the bugger apart, but be prepared for some downtime.

I'm not trying to sound discouraging, but really, it's not like working on the car is the easiest thing you'll ever do. It's pretty rewarding when you get done, but that alone doesn't always justify the time and money for the do it yourselfer. I hope this helps.

if its just the insert thats bad u could get the job done for $25 total. Thats $15 for the polyurethane insert and then $10 for intake manifold gasket. If you replace the entire mount then it'll get real costly
