    Transmission Problem!

In the past week my car has been driving really funny. When I stop it usually goes to a very low idle and almost feels like its jumping or about to die. Then I go to accelerate and it is like the transmission is slipping or something... It will rev up to 3k-5k rpms before it will even start moving. When I'm driving and press the gas (not hard) it will go all the way up to 5k+ rpms like I am in neutral (just revs). When it does this it seems as it is not shifting gears...

So I guess my question is my transmission totally FUCKED or is there any easy fix or does anyone even know what the hell the problem could be?

    EDIT: TRANSMISSION = AUTO

It first started happening about a week ago but it wasn't tooo noticable. It has gotten worse and worse every day. I had a transmission fluid leak that was fixed earlier this week. I think it is still leaking, but they said the fluid levels were fine...

check the throttle cable and the tranny cable.

You really don't need to check anything, flare up during shifting and on acceleration on an automatic transmission is the number one sign that your bands have kissed the reaper. The trannies are fun in our cars and can usually only be flushed, unless you want to pull the tranny out. Nonetheless these wonderful things called bands which have a composite material on them, mixed with synchro's, solenoids, hydraulic pressure and a whole slough of other fun stuff make our trannies do the amazing shifting. When the composite material on your bands start to disappear from normal use and old age they can't lock onto your synchro's as efficiently which leads to flare ups. It's a sad thing, but take it to your honda dealer and have them do a hydraulic pressure port test, to confirm it. Now if we drove civics we'd be rocking CVT trannies which are totally kick ass for automatics and you wouldn't have this problem, but who wants to drive a civic?

Okay it WAS my transmission fluid! Thank GOD I don't have to get a new tranny or anything. The assholes did not even fix my transmission leak and they didn't even check the fluids like they said. My car had absolutely no transmission fluid in it. I hate lying ass mechanics. They've done good work for me before but not this time.
