[Off Topic] Need help with my Civic - for you engine gurus...

Before you guys tell me to go post this on a Civic forum, remember, I'm one of you and I kinda trust you guys more than I would a stranger...

    My problem:

I start the car in the morning, it fires right up...

I drive up the street, and about the time I hit the stop sign (1 minute) the car has an irregular idle...

Since I don't have a tach and am waiting on my EX gauge cluster I can't give specific parameters...

I'm guessing from 600 to 1500 and back to 600 in half a second... like up, down, up, down, up, down..

But after it warms up the issue subsides...

I think its the coolant temp sensor... could I be right?

Can anyone locate this part on Majestic Honda for me?

    1995 Civic 5speed DX

    Thanks!

check and see if you have a bubble in your coolant? I know that causes problems sometimes with idle.

What do you mean by that?

I did see some bubbling in the reservior early last week...

It hasnt done it in a few days... dunno why.

I was thinking Brake Booster Vacuum leak.
But then he said that the problem goes away when the car warms up.

          But you're right...

Check the PCV valve, and IAC (did the 5 speed Civic come with it?)
