    odd smell

Hey, the past few times I've gone out driving, I've noticed an odd smell that seems to be coming from the engine compartment (it's more noticeable in the car and up by the hood). Burning oil or rubber is the best way I can describe it. It doesn't take long at all to notice, I can drive around for literally 2 or 3 minutes and notice it. It isn't a very strong odor, but definitely noticeable. I realize it's going to be nearly impossible for you guys to diagnose what's going on, but I was wondering if anyone had a similar problem and knows what caused it? By the way, it's a 92 ex coupe w/ 205000 miles. Thanks!

      funny smell

Just wondering if you or a shop wired up any lights, sound system ect, in your ride. My neighbor wired up his underbody lights and radio using only dollar store black electrical tape. After i pulled apart his dash I if found that some of the main hot wires were totally fried. The tape had actually mleted and turned hard. every thing still worked fine but the damn tape had gone all crispy. He said he'd called because of the funny burning smell. Restriped his wires, and set him up with some cable crimps. The smell went away. Hope this helps also try checking for any leaks around area's were there are gaskets, for the oil, smell.

I had a similiar smell a while back. After getting it up on the racks many months later for something else, we noticed there was blue goo on the exhaust pipe. Turns out I parked over a Walmart bag and it melted to the pipe. So every time the car wramed up you could faintly smell it. Damn it was a pain to scrape that crap off. Theres still a little bit leftover...

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

Oil pressure sensor switch / Oil Filter / Oil filter O ring

Lift the car and check if your exhaust is wet with oil right before the flexpipe.
