You are definitely new to cars.

Antifreeze is antifreeze no matter who makes it. Make sure you are using the green one tho. Also remember its half Antifreeze half water.

Check if your fans are working before you do anything else.

You can use Redline waterwetter for better heat transfer from the coolant to your radiator.

thanks for pointing out i am new

while driving i cant tell you about the fan(s),but at idle the left one runs, but the right one doesnt. i was told the right is just a/c and not to worry, but i dont know. i am NEW to cars,so FACTS would be good.

Did you miss the other replies?

There a thousand reasons why you car can be running hot. You would have to be much more specific. TypeG made a good point about the thermostat. Maybe yours is frozen shut. Its located towards the back of the engine bay on the passanger side where the lower radiatior hose meets the engine...

Inside that thing BTW. The thing I told you about is called the thermostat housing...

P.S. If you want good answers...How about you come up with some FACTS of your own so people do not have to ask 21 questions.

i already noted what type G said. what other replies? and where did you speak to me about thermostat housing? i see you talking to ME about fans. or are you just tryna' flame me? i know theres many reasons and as you can see i am new to cars. FACTS of what to look/check for might help me to learn/locate and pin-point the problem. as for the fans,i told you what i could

edit: you definitely just wanna run the verteran/newbie route
what more can i tell you besides whatever LITTLE things i do know?

              -hoses are all fine
-i told you about the fan,if somethings wrong with that lemme know
-coolant isnt leaking. lvls is fine
-oil just been changed. YES filter too
-i plan on checking the thermostat (just learned it here)

what more is there for me to say? you just tryna flame

God damn relax... . There are a million reasons like I said why your car is OVER-heating...(you made the same spelling eyesore on H-T.)

                Busted hoses
                Malfunctioning Fans
                Malfunctioning Fan Relays
                Insufficent Fluid
                Buildup In radiator
                Frozen thermostat
                Pinched hoses....

I can go on and on ...is that what you want?

Now isn't that much better... No I don't flame noobs...Ask anyone on here. You got fresh for no good reason so I put you in your place. Now, see most likely its your T-stat. Before it was a wild guess...wouldn't you say?

lol@me getting fresh. for saying thanks for pointing out i am new.

                    hoses are fine.
fans,i just told you the situation. you didnt tell me if its correct.
                    fan relays? gonna check that
                    fluid? i said its fine
buildup in the radiator? i said i was planning to flush it
                    frozen thermostat? ima check that

all i wanted was things to look out for. at the same time i'd be learning.
anyway,IF it is a frozen shut thermostat, will i have to replace it or can i fix it? c'mon now, dont forget i am new to cars,so if its a REPLACE only thing dont laugh it up lol.

Also Faulty temp sensors turn the fans on at retarded times...However it does not sound like your problem.

Frozen T-Stats need to be replaced.

EDIT: Its my fault too, I am in bitch mode right now. Someone posted the Village People in a thread last night before I went to sleep. Needless to say, I am scarred for life.

Here is my way of checking it:

Warm up the car with a 5 minute drive
Touch the Radiator first to see if its hot.
Open the Radiator and Run for cover
Check if the coolant if flowing.

DISCLAIMER: IF YOU GET BURNED USING MY METHODS, YOU WERE UNLUCKY AND ITS NOT MY FAULT. BLAME WHOEVER OWNED THE CAR BEFORE YOU.

As for the fans...Check to see if when you car is getting hot, if your fans are running. If so most likely there is no problem.

Bad Relays turn them on sometimes, if they even turn them on at all.
Bad temp switches sometimes throw CELs (check engine light) and turn the fans on when the car is cold or fails to turn them on when its hot.

lol@disclaimer. but is that how you check the t-stat? cause without doing what you did,i can tell the coolant flows. i can lean over to look at the bottle and the coolant would be half way gone. and it fills up again after the car is off. but if this is to check the t-stat ima do it. btw in the other thread you said get some other ignition wires and plugs. i was told to get NGK's

Personally, I would not put anything but NGK's in my engine. I had Denso's a while ago. For a stock engine, go with the NGK Rs i believe the manual says.
