    auto tranny problem

O.k here goes trying to explain this one. my tranny will shift just fine, but when it gets colder out (like now) it likes to take a few seconds before it shows me on the dash that the car is in park, and until it shows me its in park I can't shut the car off. It is not all that cold out now but once winter hits it has taken me up to 30 minutes before the stupid light goes on. I just tore the whole system apart looking for the porblem but everything is moving smoothly. I also just bought an electrical cleaner spray and sprayed all the wires and their connecters down I noticed though that wen the whole system is apart on the left hand side there are all the wires and on the other side of those wires are some copper connecters that look kinda worn down and I was wondering if that could be the reason it doesnt recognize park immediatly. I thought of buying a cold solder tool and adding a little bit to those copper sliders in the hope of making a better connection, and i was just wondering what you guys here think? could I fuck things up more by doing this? Would it even work? Has anyone else ad this problem? The solenoid works fine along with everything else so that is my last thought. Thanks for any help.
No longer working on the cb. To much time and money has been put into it. Check my for sale thread where the whole car will be parted out.

Never mind, I found something that works. the problem was the shift position console switch. Its a 50 dollar part from honda. If you have the same or similar problem though just buy some electrical parts cleaner, and dialectric grease. Spray the electrical connecters down with the cleaner wait for it to dry. then use the grease. Shifter is moving smooth as anything now, and it's going into park and reverse with no problems. Only took me 2 years to figure this problem out. If you want I can take some pictures and make this into a diy.

Does it make the sound when you hit your brakes? If so it is the solenoid working, basically it allows the car to come out of park. If it doesn't work, you can use your key and put that in the key lock on the shifter and that will override it. I should do a Diy in the next few days. hopefully that will explain things.

Sometimes on really cold days, the solenoid will not work until the interior is warmed up.

Try spraying the solenoid down with some cleaner. Thean get some graphite lube and spray it down, and try to get some in there(very small amount) That stuff is so slick it wont matter how cold out it gets.
