Hella squeaking coming from the front when turning steering wheel.

I have reason to believe that it is my tie-rod bushings, because I noticed they have been worn for quite sometime. But would they emit this squeaking noise (perhaps due to the metal to metal rubbing) because it is god-awful.

I hope its not an expensive or time consuming fix if it is. I'm hoping to DIY on the next good weekend with jdm91cb.

I made this thread to get some opinions before I put it on a lift/jack, and I can't do that atm because it is raining here in NY. Don't think I'm being a typical "lazy-dumb-newb" thanks.

have your lower ball joints checked. When my car was making noises it was because of that. Not to expensive to fix but prolly not a diy unless you have all the tools.
No longer working on the cb. To much time and money has been put into it. Check my for sale thread where the whole car will be parted out.

Thank you alb_accord, mrx, and djspeedy, I ended up taking it to my boy's pop's shop and he said its the lower ball joint. I will work on it this friday but prior to doing so I have a couple questions:

              1. Does the ball joint just need to be lubed?
              2. Will it need to be changed?
              3. Average price for a replacement?
              4. Time involved in replacing it?

yes it makes a sound like a whaling sound.. i ignored the sound.. and next thing you know it gave out.. and it pulled the axle out of the tranny... lower balljoint was hanging down... i ended up spending 250.00 plus labor.. axle and balljoint..

Wtgay? 250$ plus labor? Thats fucking ***.

I'm gonna just park this bitch until I can DIY it. That is all.

You're 100% sure its the ball joint and not something simple like low PS fluid?

maybe you can find the parts cheaper in the bronx but i doubt it.. because i see cb7 going for 4gs in that state..

Its possible for parts being that price but theres alot of cb7s that turn up missing ahem the reason why I dont know probably that will be a mystery plus with the crackhead pricing mechanics charge. Thats why I became my own mechanic. Staying in one spot too long out there with no eyes on the ride is a welcome invitation to you know who ix-nay thieves. The cb7s and other car including civic check in but they dont check out. Even one time ive seen 1 person get held up at gunpoint and yoiksed out of his ride while ordering some mcdonalds. Is it take out or to go I changed it myself got the part for 50 bucks .

Thanks again h22sparkle for the incredibly helpful post, you're a great member around here, good job

alb_accord, can you hit me up on AIM. I've found a local shop that will do the labor on the installation for 50$ and it'll take about an hr and a half. Also, I went to the local auto parts wholesaler (which usually doesn't deal with walk-in orders) but a friend of mine works there and I'm getting the lower ball joint for around 20$ each. Sounds good?
