    Brakes Grinding

I changed my pads like 3 weeks ago, then just last Thursday I start gettin a bad, intermitent, grinding sound. Speeds up w/ speed, gets less when I press the pedal (so I'm sure its the front) but then bad again when I release. Also when I turn "Right" it gets really bad. I checked the pads, calipers and roters...

so heres what I am thinking.. slightly warped rotor (very slightly b/c of the intermitency), a caliper that wont release, or ..... any ideas? I'm checking again right now & running to the parts store - Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Did you put the bolts back into the caliper during reassembly, and if so did you tighten them up enough? If the caliper shifted and is rubbing against the inside of the rim it'll do just what you're describing.

I did... I have just removed the drivers side caliper (it sounded the worst when I spun the rotors) and the lower bolt has a slight bend to it. It was rockin the ratchet as I was loosening it.

I'm still leaning towards the caliper not releasing, b/c i have the wheels off (checked inside the rims & no wear or grind marks) and I still get the grind, so maybe not grinding the inside of the rim, but I will keep that in mind. Maybe the caliper shifted on the rotor which would allow for the sudden appearance of the grind. Can I get just the one bolt w/o buying the whole reman caliper? Otherwise I'll be buyin that Friday.

Your local Honda stealership is your friend on this one. Should be what, $4 at most?

Didn't lube them, yeah it could be a dragging sound. Thing that threw me off is that it didn't start happening until almost 3-4 weeks after replacing the pads.

I was driving down this street that paved w/ bricks and sounded like I hit something, then I heard this clanking sound coming from the rear p-side area. Pulled into a lot, parked walked around, looked under the car in the area of the sound, didnt see anything, backed out, heard it again but when I pulled forward the sound was gone. Then the next day I was getting the dragging/grinding/rubbing sound from, sounds like, the front p-side brake.

It IS speed variable, meaning it goes faster as I speed up, and gets VERY loud when I am turning, only to the right though.

Now, over the weekend, when I was on the freeway 65mph+ and go to slow down, I get HUGE virbation, like the rotors are warped. Shouldn't that have shown up when I first changed the pads?

So, Now b/c of the right turn sound I wonder if it is the dust shield behind the rotor, but then also with the vibrations do I just change the Rotors and hope for the best?

EDIT:: Also another thought, could it be a sticky caliper?
