I had a problem...voltage was fine, car ran fine after a jump or push, but would simply not start on its own, even with a new battery. I looked around under the hood and noticed my negative battery wire was basically completely rotten and rusted (it had that cyanish color powder to it)...so I jumped in the mommobile, got a 31" 1 gauge black wire and swapped it in. The other end of the wire is on the left side of the block, under the intake and near the starter. It's a little hard to get to, but if you have a socket wrench and a 3-4" extender it's not too bad. The bolt is a 10mm. I think it might be easier from under the car but it's not worth the trouble IMO unless you have ramps.
I connected everything and hopped back in. It started a little slowly but worked (better than the 'aaaah voltage is too low so ill just click' no-start thing). I drove it to work, and that night I needed another jump, but when I got home it started on its own again, and it's fine now. I think the battery just needed to recharge.
In any case the lights are noticeably lighter and the car has some new pep in its step(especially towards the top end, 2nd gear feels faster). I wanna replace the battery to alternator wire and the other major one (alternator to fusebox?) and get a grounding kit...the electrical system is super key. If you have everything grounded at the same voltage you'll make a little HP and gain a lot of response. Just that one wire made a noticeable difference.
