Fuel Problem // I've tried everything!!!!

    The car:
    92 accord ex
    JDM H22

    The problem:
When I attempt to start the car, I end up having to crank it for a good 20 seconds before it will start. One thing I have noticed is that the fuel pump doesn't pressurize the system when the key is turned to accessory. I believe it is supposed to do this. I took it to my dealer in january and the mention something about the fuel pump having 2 grounds, but one was missing. I've looked and haven't found any trace of where this second ground could be or have been.

    Parts replaced:
    Main Relay
    Fuel Pump
Fuel Tank [not related, but I did it]

    The Question:
What else can I do to fix this?
    What am I missing?
    Where should I look next?
Does anyone have any experience with crap like this?

    Of Note:
This started right after my swap was installed. I didn't do the swap, and I've been wishing I had ever since. But, what did those monkeys do that caused this.

Is there a pin in the ecu that is the ground for the pump?

    Cliffs:
Got my swap, hard to start, replaced a bunch of stuff, still doesn't start right, me = mad.

    Thanks guys.

Okay, a couple things we need more info... The ECU pressurizes the fuel system by grouding the main relay thus activating the pump for about about 2 seconds. This pressurizes the system enough to start the car then it leaves it on once the engine is started. so, is your car doing this? can you hear the pump engage for a couple seconds or is it just silence? also, what does your check engine light do when you first turn the key on? It's should turn on in unison with the fuel pump then turn off unless something is wrong? if your wiring is okay, and you've replaced all of those components, I would consider swapping a good working ECU to see if that fixes it...

        OK

The pump does not come on when the key is turned, thus no pressurization. I don't hear anything from the pump area, just that damn beeping. The CEL stays on until the engine finally cranks. I replaced the ecu at the beginning of the summer and the fuel filter is a year old. [went in with the swap]

I know you said you replaced the main relay not too long ago, but something in that circuit seems to be the issue. Check the gorunds of the main relay. Also check the voltage at the ECU pin to verify that it is sending the voltage durring the "prime" stage. Also, try sticking a +12V source up to the fuel pump and seeing if it powers up as it should. If the ECU is doing as it should and the pump works fine when you manually activate it, then it has to be you main relay or something related to it. There's really not too much else in that system that would affect it. Good luck!

got a quick ? about the fuel pump... can you hear it inside the car with all doors closed, radio off, no beeping (or any other noises for that matter) when you hit the key? just curious since i have to work on it by myself.

Switch the ecu and recheck your grounds and fuses and swap out another relay if you already so called changed the pump dude

                  hard to start car

Im having the same problem after doing my swap! It takes about 20 senconds to start or a few cranks. I replaced the fuel filter today and it still does the same thing when i try to start it. My check engine light though stays on after i get it started. Im glad that im not the only one with this problem. h22sparkle remember i told you earlier that was hard to start. Tying hard to find out what the problem is.
