    Oil leak haunting me.

Well it turns out I have a mysterious oil leak, I left my car in my backyard and there was a puddle under it 24 hrs later, which could have possibly been that I spilled a little on the block while I was pouring oil in, so the residue dripped off. But the oil level also returned to the very tip of the dipstick.

So I have been avoiding using it, but today I put in another qt of synthetic blend mobil clean 7500 10w30. I put in a qt a few mins ago, ran it for ten mins while looking underneath, nothing. I'm gonna leave it to sit for an hr, and see how much oil I find under it, hopefully none, but thats a miracle straight from our savior.

I have done the valve cover gasket, and upper tube seals. I think my lower may be ready to be done (1 was completely dry, 2 had very little oil, 3 had the most-but still not much, 4 had the same amount as 2.) I was wondering how hard the cam seal would be, and curious if I were overlooking any. I pray to god its not the rear main, or else it will stay like that till I can afford to swap in a single vtec (in about a month).

Cam seal id pretty easy as long as your careful in taking the rocker assebly off. If you decide to replace the cam seal, losen the bolts in revert pattern of the tightening seqence, and do no, I MEAN DO NOT REMOVE THE BOLTS...I did that once and the rocker assembly came apart and I couldn't get it together. Good idea to set the engine to tdc before taking it apart...

I'm sure there's more intruction that I'm too lazy to explain, but if you have questions, pm me.

Why would you remove the rockershafts to replace the cam seal? I've never done that.

Ditto. No need to touch anything inside the head.
After the cam gear is off, stick a flathead in there to pry the old one out being careful not to dent or scuff the head around the seal. Then oil up the new seal and use a socket the diameter of the seal (about 24mm or so) and a rubber mallet and lightly tap the new one in place.

Best bet is gonna be to put the car up on a rack and look at it underneath. Otherwise youcould grab a piece of posterboard or paper os something light colored that can cover the area underneath your car. Next time you cut it off, stick the posterboard under there to see the exact area it's dripping from. Then go at it with flashlights trying to find it. You say the level isn't going down any so it may be P/S fluid or Brake/Clutch fluid or even a leak in the A/C lines will shoot the compressor oil out and after that shit touches dirt, it looks black like used motor oil. Just verify the area it's coming from, and that it is oil and not something else. Post up here what you find.
