2 new problems with the accord

the car kills itself wen i sit in neutral at a stop light. i have no clue why i beleive this may be idle rpm related?????

another problem i notice today was the temperature gauge goes up to above normal temp level, wen im parked and the car is off, but once i start the car back up the temp goes back down and its fine.

gawd i hate this car now. as soon as all these problems are fixed its going up for sale.....

Check your coolant level, maybe you're a bit low?

Temp goes up when car is off? How do you know?

      Check after-run fan relay/timer.

if i put the key in the accessory part, the gauge goes up to like the 3/4 section of the gauge.

edit : another thing ive noticed is when i was driving to skool this morning the car feels like its bogging down wen i accelerate as well. for sum reason im just not having very good luck with cars this month......

LOL! If you fixed all the problems you wouldn't have any more problems!

Like SteveB said, fan should come on for a while after shutting down.

If the car will idle by itself in yer driveway also see if one or more fans come on eventually*

              * wait 30 minutes or more!

dont wait to long to see if ur fans will kick on tho. make sure u continue to watch ur temp gauge just incase its right u dont want to overheat and blow a head gasket. i have a small coolant leak in mine and after about a month i need to put about a quart of water in it. other wise the temp gauge will rise a very noticable amount while the car isnt in motion. the fans cool it down but when theres not a proper amount of coolant then the fan cant do it all. thats why when in motion its fine because of the help with the wind. as far as bogging down im not completely sure, u could clean the throttle body get new plugs and make sure ur air filter is clean and nothing is blocking it. dont give up on the accord tho its a good car.

im having a local import shop look at it for me, theyre adjusting my valves and hooking it up to a diagnostic machine as well, so figure out everything that is wrong.

                          diagnostic machine?

you prolly have air in your coolant system. bleed it and let it idle with the cap off for 10 minutes.

                            could be your thermostat.

on my old 3rd gen, whenever I stopped, the temp gauge would rise, but when I started driving it would drop down to normal. Once I got caught in a traffic jam, and it overheated so I had to pull over until traffic died down! I replaced the thermostat and it worked fine after that.
