S Indicator light blinking & Speedometer Freaking out

I have a 1990 Accord LX and while I'm driving the speedometer will drop to zero and then back up to normal a few times and then the S indicator light will begin blinking an doesn't go off until I turn off the car and turn it back on. I know there's something wrong but I don't have my Owner's Manual anymore to look up what it is....any idea?
P.S. The car itself doesn't make any weird noise or slow down,up,etc...it's running as usual.

buy a new or used speed sensor. it IS your prob.

id rather buy a new one, its an easy fix.

i think its like 75 to 110 bucks for a new one, but if u get a used one the problem may come back.

LOL, i have the exact same problem. It is deffinately the speed sensor and its something like $225 from the dealer. Go to http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and they have a honda parts catalog. Look for the COMBO METER, its like $111 or something, and its new so you should be fine. Good luck finding the damn thing though, theres a pic somewhere on here.

I can get new Speed Sensors (90-91) for anyone who needs them for $110, shipped. List is $147. I can also get the sensor for 92 and later Accords (And everything else) for $80 shipped. List is $110. Anyone interested, just PM me.

i just changed mine 2 weeks ago! took me 10 minutes to replace...but i got my on ebay for 40 bucks. new

Keep in mind that the ones available on eBay are either aftermarket, or used. I had the option, but I put the Honda unit on my own car.

that happened to me in one of my old cars.... it turned out that the guy i bought it from, tinkered with the speedometer...

That's a good deal. Wish I had found this place sooner. I paid $175 at the dealer. The auto parts store wanted over $200.

it only flashes while im driving. i just tried turning the key on... and with the car running. no flashing, but if i do drive it, it flashes.

mine dropped to zero too

and then Right after that
i got home and my car never came on ever again (my old ex)

and it turned out to be my alternator

but yeah it's probally the speed sensor
