a/c recharging

a friend of mine was in a wreck and he bought my car to fix his front end...we swapped the bumper,the radiator,my jdm lights, the hood, the grill, the a/c grill or core in the front...when we did this we had to drain the coolent to dissconnect the lines from the a/c cooler...he wants to know if he can get it recharged or will he have to upgrade hi a/c system....we had non choice about removing the lines cause everything was bent and needed to be swapped out....does anyone know???? thanx

You can still recharge with the original R12-but it will cost you $$. Cheapest way would be to get your license to buy R12 online-it's about a 2 hour lesson & test.

Or you can go the easy way and convert over to R134a since your system is empty now.
