Car likes to whine

ok guys i did do search but i couldn't find nething so maybe u guys could help... I don't know if its something bad yet but i know it will turn eventually...Well heres the story when im driving jus daily driven or i think racin too when i go above 2500rpms i start to hear this whining noise coming from the engine bay and it will continue to get more high pitch until i shift and this will do it through 2nd and third gear but not first or 4th and 5th my first thoughts were the belt but i checked the belt and i didn't see nething abnormal bout it so does ne1 have any suggestions on what it could be?

P.S Not even a year ago my alternator went to crap so they changed that and i believe they put a new belt on im not 100% sure of it but ill check =) thanx agn for any help u can give me

1 - Could be your alternator bushing? I have no idea some guy said his was bad.
2 - Is it speed or RPM dependent?
3 - My whine turned out to be my balance-shaft belts. The spring on the tensioner had popped off and the belt was just chewed up by the teeth on the gears.
To check, remover PS, Alt, right engine mount, lower engine with jack stands and remove lower timing cover. If the belt is stripped then you know you need a new one. $30 http://catalog.honda-auto-parts-whol...mageField.y=13

nah its rpms i thought it was speed but its when ever it gets past 2500 rpms ill check on that thanx

most automatics do that. my first dx had it very loud and now my ex is starting it.

nah only once i go past 2500 rpms ill try and make a vid so u can see it but exhuast will probably block it out

well you can still go to 2500 rpms when not in gear...

u can hear this the most when the car is in gear and u are being light on the throttle*just crusing*
but yeah cb7 have this noise....
my friend who is a mechanic why by the way has a cb7 told me that its the bets touching the cover buti don't see them it comes from the under the ps pump but thats me lol. i gave up on in a long time a go.
